Treating pool water with electrolysis of salt water – releases
free chlorine and provides immediate disinfection. This method treats
the water without using chemicals, as the system prevents the formation
of chloramine, which is the cause of unpleasant odor. The pool water should
be slightly salty: 3-5 g/l of water. Pool salt, or salt molecules (NaCl),
are converted into sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl) with the help of a
salt water treatment plant. This reaction is achieved with a
low voltage applied to the surface of titanium electrodes
inside the electrolytic cell.
